Now you are able to use miniUSB-cabel and Comet with Mozilla Firefox!

There has been published an add-on for Mozilla Firefox, which enables a Comet user to use miniUSB-cable together with Comet and Firefox. This add-on, IE-Tab, is intalled to Firefox. It allows Internet Explorer to run inside Firefox browser. Like this you are able e.g. to load money into Comet by using cable and Firefox (earlier this has been possible only with Internet Explorer).

Please also note that the operating system must be Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64 bit).

Install the IE-Tab into your Firefox and after that continue to install Comet USB driver and Active X according to original instructions. If you have installed earlier the Comet USB-driver and active X, you do not need to do that again.

You have to have authority to install add-ons to your browser. Following instructions are made by using Windows XP and Mozilla Firefox.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Open your Mozilla Firefox browser, and download the add-on from this site:

(Mozilla Firefox upt to ver 3.5.8)https://addons.mozilla.org/fi/firefox/addon/1419

(Mozilla Firefox ver 3.6 and newer)https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/92382

Start the installation by clicking "Add to Firefox"-button.

PLEASE NOTE! If you use Internet Explorer -browser, add-on is not installed!

2. Click "Install" -button in the following window

3. Wait for the installation to be accomplished. Browser advices you to finalize the installation by restarting the browser.

4. Reboot your Firefox, and the installation is accomplished.

 

  

5. Open www.comet.fi with your Firefox.

 

  
6. Right-click Firefox tab. Select "Change the engine(E)" from the appearing menu.

7. Internet Explorer symbol/logo appears to the tab, in front of site´s title. Now you are in Internet Explorer mode, inside the Firefox. You are now able to use pages which are designed to Internet Explorer only.

8. You can set up Firefox to use IE-Tab automatically whenever entering www.comet.fi.

Select from the main menu of the browser "Tools" -> "IE tab settings" and type  www.comet.fi into the address field andclick "Add"

Web-site appears now in to the list above the field. Sites in this list uses IE-Tab automatically.

9. Now continue installing the Comet USB-driver and Active X in IE-Tab -mode. Original instructions are found here.

Please note! If you have already installed the driver and Active X (e.g. you have already used cable and Internet Explorer) you do not need to do that again.
